The award initiative through WELCOA recognizes quality and excellence in workplace wellness promotion. Driven by a predefined set of workplace wellness criteria, organizations of all kinds compete to be recognized as one of America’s healthiest companies.
Our workplace wellness initiatives are led by our Wellness Activities Group (WAG) and continually change to meet the needs and interests of our Associates. Most recently, “Project Z” educated our Associates on the importance of sleep and the impact it has on our lives. WAG also coordinates blood drives, wellness rewards and incentives, weight management programs, wellness reimbursement programs, informative lunch and learns and more!
We are lucky to have support from our Chairman, John P. Nelson, and the rest of our leadership team. In addition to their support, some even serve on our WAG Committee. Mark Matthes, Chief Operating Officer and WAG Committee Co-Chair states, “We are incredibly honored to have been chosen as a recipient of the Platinum Well Workplace award from WELCOA. As an organization, we are focused on the well-being of our Associates which extends beyond health and wellness programs. Being selected for this award validates our WAG programs but also encourages us to focus our efforts even further as the needs of our SilverStone Group Associates continue to evolve.”
The culture at SilverStone group is nothing less than exceptional. Who wouldn’t love to come to work every day to a selection of fresh fruit, healthy foods and the encouragement and support of your co-workers? Now that’s motivation… and a nice perk! The belief is that thinking positively, eating better and exercising often equates to healthy living. These values help shape our company culture and everyday mindset within.
SilverStone Group is one of five companies to win the 2017 Platinum Well Workplace Award, and the only company within the entire state of Nebraska to do so. The company is no stranger to workplace wellness, as SilverStone Group first received the Gold Well Workplace Award in 2000, and then again in 2003, 2006, 2008, 2011 and 2014. The award is good for three years at a time.
We are honored to receive the Platinum Award and look forward to creating an even healthier workplace for years to come.
