John H. Nelson grew up in a family that espoused Midwest values of family, community and an honest day’s work for an honest dollar, and his upbringing shows in the way he handles his business. With 20 years of experience in property and casualty insurance, John specializes in multi-family residential, hospitality, retail, industrial and commercial property risks.
John founded and continues to lead our real estate risk services division which is considered one of the top industry-specific insurance teams in the United States, with assets in all 50 states, Canada, Puerto Rico, Mexico, the Caribbean, Europe and the former Soviet Union.
Our real estate clients develop and manage commercial, residential and hospitality investment properties. These clients face risk management issues that require complex solutions. With backgrounds in reinsurance, underwriting, marketing, safety engineering and claims adjudication, John’s team is uniquely positioned to offer clients a true 360-degree perspective of their risk management program.
John has expertise in designing property programs for clients with catastrophic risk exposures. After Hurricane Katrina, for example, he and his team traveled the world to find affordable solutions at a time when many of their peers were unable to find capacity. John says his clients become more like friends — and he doesn’t like to let his friends down.
John also has a passion for aviation as his Grandfather, Major James Tucker, flew a Lockheed P-38 Lightening during WWII. In recognition of the globalization of business and the proliferation of both privately-owned and corporate aircraft, John has worked diligently to build an Aviation division at SilverStone Group by recruiting experts with extensive knowledge and expertise in the industry. He works closely with the Aviation team, which has over 40 years of combined experience in all facets of aviation and is dedicated to bringing our customers the best service in the industry.
His job experience includes working internationally with Swire Fraser at Lloyd’s of London in 1992, Swire Pacific in Hong Kong in 1993 and Aon Risk Services of Chicago, Illinois in 1994.
John is a member of Young Presidents’ Organization and he and his wife Susie serve on several community boards and are chairing the 2013 Nebraska Make-A-Wish Fundraiser . John is also passionate about supporting our military and their families through the Navy SEAL Foundation.

Donelle knows the importance of commitment. She’s been a dedicated SilverStone Group Associate for more than 20 years and has more than 35 years of total industry experience. With all that knowledge, clients can rest assured Donelle is taking care of their insurance needs. Specializing in property and casualty insurance and risk management, she works closely with producers to review all account information, including marketing the account to available carriers, reviewing coverages and needs, coordinating internal account service and overseeing all day-to-day servicing of accounts.
In order to provide the best possible customer service, Donelle stays current on real estate trends to ensure her clients are protected against emerging risks. She listens to her client’s needs and finds the best solution to their problems. She enjoys facing new challenges and taking on new types of risk because it adds to the variety of the job.
Donelle has experience working with a number of industries, including manufacturing, restaurants, auto/mobile home dealerships, chemical/oil distributors, printers, financial institutions, hospital/nursing home, aviation and property management.
When she’s not busy at SilverStone Group, Donelle spends all of her free time with her granddaughter and family.

Born and raised in the Midwest, Lyndsay knows the value of hard work and loyalty. For more than six years, she has dedicated herself to SilverStone Group’s mission and clients. Specializing in property and casualty insurance and risk management, she understands the importance of providing detailed, accurate information and a quick turnaround time.
Clients appreciate Lyndsay’s ability to simplify insurance-related tasks. She works hard to make sure clients understand their policies and are comfortable with claims resolution. Her clients can count on her to handle their needs in an efficient and timely manner.
Lyndsay obtained her Certified Insurance Counselor designation in November 2010 and is involved in Young Agents of Nebraska. She received her Certified Aviation Insurance Professional (CAIP) designation in February of 2012. She is one of less than 100 people in the country that hold this title. She spends her free time traveling and chasing after her two young children, who she hopes to raise with the same Midwestern values as she was raised with.

Lisa has always enjoyed the game of golf. Growing up on a farm, she recalls being sent to the local course to spend her days and she couldn’t have been happier.
Lisa has always enjoyed the game of golf. Growing up on a farm, she recalls being sent to the local course to spend her days and she couldn’t have been happier. She developed focus, concentration, patience and self-assurance, all valuable traits that she has continued to utilize throughout her career at SilverStone Group.
For nearly eight years, Lisa has worked in a continually evolving role, spanning all lines of coverage for businesses of every size, specializing in property and casualty insurance and risk management. She currently works in a team support and administration role for multiple industry teams including Outdoor Recreation which allows her to incorporate a little golf into her daily work life. Lisa performs background research, analyzes policy details, compares coverages, issues certificates of insurance and maintains quality for all of her team members. Her well-rounded history, attention to detail and organization skills are invaluable to her team and she is more than capable of stepping in for any team member, should the need arise.
With customer service skills like these, it’s easy to see why Lisa is a past recipient of the H.H. “Red” Nelson award for outstanding achievement in client service. She strives to provide the best possible client service as if SilverStone Group was owned by her family. Lisa is also the current President of the Omaha Underwriters Association.
When Lisa is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family at her son’s sporting events or playing a round or two of golf. That’s par for her course!

Lori has spent the past 5 years learning the ins and outs of the insurance industry. She specializes in Property & Casualty and Risk Management for our Real Estate and Aviation Risk Services teams. Her position involves marketing new and existing accounts, extending and expanding existing coverage and renewing expirations, all while providing exceptional service to her clients. Lori joined SilverStone Group in 2011 and truly enjoys the family-oriented nature of the company. When it comes to putting Associates’ needs first, she said that “SilverStone Group doesn’t just talk-the-talk, they walk-the-walk.”
Lori is extremely detail-oriented, She often finds herself giving everything a second or even third look. She enjoys working in a team environment and knows that collaborating with others can improve work quality and create a more efficient workplace. Lori is anxious to share her knowledge and experience with others, and welcomes the opportunity to learn something new from her colleagues.
In addition to her role at SilverStone Group, Lori plays active part in the Omaha insurance community. She holds the title of Co-Chair for the Young Independent Insurance Agents of Omaha and is a member of Independent Insurance Agents of Omaha (IIAO), in addition to Independent Insurance Agents of Nebraska (IIAN). In 2011, she was awarded the 2011 Young Agent of the Year at the IIAN annual convention. She is currently pursuing the title of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and has nearly completed her training for Accredited Adviser of Insurance (AAI).
When Lori isn’t focused on work, she enjoys spending time outdoors biking, gardening and visiting parks. Her two sons currently do a good job keeping her schedule full, but she hopes that she’ll eventually have more time for traveling.
