Ken Kolander Named Word Processing Specialist

The main focus of the National Association of Board-Certified Advisory Practices (NABCAP) is to serve the investing community by helping recognize the top wealth managers.

NABCAP, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and its board of directors created an unaffiliated evaluation procedure in which 20 categories of practice management are evaluated. Votava Promoted to Multi-Media Manager

SilverStone Group Reports on the Gap in Car Rental Coverage

Omaha, NE  |  SilverStone Group recently brought their clients up to speed on the newly created gap in car rental coverage and how it relates to the Loss Damage Waiver provided by rental companies.

There are often mixed emotions for those renting a car when they are faced with the unavoidable decision; should you buy the Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) or not? On average, the LDW costs around $20/day and it essentially absolves the renter of any liability if the car becomes dented, breaks down, gets scratched, blown up, etc. Coverage for harm to rental cars has regularly been supplied through commercial automobile policies, thus reducing the need to purchase the rental car company’s LDW. In spite of this, rental agencies have recently created a “gap in coverage” through the use of rental agreements that provide for “Diminution in Value” at the time of loss. Simply defined, diminution of value is the vehicle’s loss of value after it has been damaged. This is determined solely by the contract produced by the rental company. It confirms the value of the vehicle before the rental, and then compares the value of the vehicle after the loss. The difference between the two values then becomes the responsibility of the renter, creating a costly dilemma for those who choose to forego the LDW and experience the misfortune of an accident. Renters should be aware of this potential loss and use their best judgment when it comes to purchasing the LDW protection.

Gaule Named Application/Web Developer

Omaha, NE  |   SilverStone Group is pleased to announce the addition of Patrick Gaule as an Application/Web Developer in the Information Technology department.

Patrick will be responsible for the application software and web development for various departments throughout the firm, as well as doing a range of database administration.

Patrick received a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, graduating summa cum laude. He also holds professional certifications from the Computer Technology Industry Association (Comp TIA A +) and the Computer Technology Industry Association Network + (Comp TIA Network+).

Buser Joins the Marketing & Communications Team

Omaha, NE  |   SilverStone Group is pleased to announce the addition of Rachel Buser as Communications Specialist for the Marketing & Communications department.

Buser will assist the Communications department with document and presentation preparations and word processing projects. She will also be involved with editing of proposed materials, SilverLink articles and correspondence for clients.

Buser received a Bachelor degree in English with a concentration in writing and linguistics from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Jeffrey Jorth of SilverStone Group Receives TOYO Award

Omaha, NE  |  SilverStone Group is pleased to announce the Omaha Jaycees have honored Jeffrey Jorth, a Principal in our Group Benefits Division, as a recipient of the 2009 TOYO (Ten Outstanding Young Omahans) Award.

The 77th annual TOYO Award recognizes community leaders between the ages of 21 and 40 who notably dedicate their talent to community improvement organizations, balancing various selfless projects while continuing to succeed in their professional careers.

At SilverStone Group, Jorth’s focus is on building new client relationships, developing existing client relationships and marketing the firm’s series of service capabilities. Jorth has highlighted expertise in the fields of health saving accounts, alternative funding arrangements, strategic planning and employee benefits. He is the 2010 President-Elect for the Nebraska Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a Board Member for the Nothing But Net Foundation and is also a Floor Committee Member for Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben. Jeff actively attends St. Thomas Lutheran Church, is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters and graduated from the Leadership Omaha Class 28.
