Valadares Kientz Promoted to Consultant

Omaha, NE  | SilverStone Group is pleased to recognize Diego Valadares Kientz for his recent promotion.

Diego Valadares Kientz has been promoted to Consultant in the Human Capital department. Along with increased client contact, Valadares Kientz independently leads and manages compensation projects.

According to Ashley Thomalla, Senior Consultant in the Human Capital department, the promotion is well deserved and Valadares Kientz is a vital asset to the Compensation and Compliance Team. Since joining SilverStone Group over three years ago, he has obtained the designation of Certified Compensation Professional.

SilverStone Group Promotes Hoffman

Omaha, NE | SilverStone Group announces promotion of Barbara Hoffman to Lead Service Specialist.

Barbara Hoffman has been recognized for her outstanding performance in the Group Benefits department by being promoted to Lead Service Specialist. In her new position, she is responsible for staff development, training new Service Specialists, facilitating staff meetings, developing process changes or improvements and serving as team advocate. Supervisor Rochelle Nick says Hoffman is a great role model who provides exceptional customer service and is both a motivated and independent worker, making her the natural choice for the new role.

Hoffman has more than 15 years of experience in employee benefits administration. In 2012, she was presented with SilverStone Group’s H.H. “Red” Nelson Award for her ongoing dedication to client service.

SilverStone Group Named One of Nebraska’s Safest Companies

Omaha, NE | SilverStone Group Earns Safest Companies Award for Fifth Consecutive Year.

SilverStone Group is pleased to again be recognized with a Nebraska Safest Companies Award of Honor with Distinction. The awards program, created by The National Safety Council, was designed to promote incident prevention by celebrating companies with outstanding safety programs, and who have gone above and beyond to improve the safety and health environments in their organizations.

“Receiving this award once again for our superior 2015 calendar year incident rate exemplifies SilverStone Group’s unwavering focus on employee health, wellness and safety. Healthy employees working in a safe environment help ensure continued top-notch client service,” said Joe Freeman, Safety Manager at SilverStone Group.

The National Safety Council of Nebraska’s Safest Companies Awards Committee completes a comprehensive review of the entries and determines the category of qualification. Each committee member spends a minimum of 30 to 40 hours reviewing the individual applications and discussing the applications as a group.

SilverStone Group’s safety achievements will be recognized on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at the National Safety Council’s Annual Safety & Health Summit’s awards banquet at the La Vista Conference Center in La Vista, Nebraska.

 

Steele Joins Firm as Account Administrator

Omaha, NE | SilverStone Group is pleased to announce the addition of Gloria Steele to the Group Benefits department.

Gloria Steele recently joined SilverStone Group as an Account Administrator on the Group Benefits Team. She is responsible for assisting Account Managers with the daily retention, support and service of group client accounts. In addition, she prepares bid specifications and renewal presentations. Steele’s articulate, positive communication style fosters strategic relationships with both her team and clients, providing efficient, effective customer service.

Steele has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry and has served in a variety of capacities, including auditing medical claims, supervising customer service operations and participating in employee / client benefit meetings.

SilverStone Group Announces the Promotions of Aust, Hartman and Rush

Omaha, NE | SilverStone Group is pleased to recognize Amy Aust, Lisa Hartman and Julie Rush for their recent promotions.

Amy Aust has been with SilverStone Group since 2007 and dedicates herself to providing quality coverage and client satisfaction. Her promotion to Senior Consultant within the Private Client Service Team allows her to strengthen her focus on client relationships and detailed risk analysis.

With more than 16 years of industry experience, including three years with SilverStone Group, Lisa Hartman was recently promoted to Account Manager within the Group Benefits and Worksite Marketing Teams. She works in SilverStone Group’s Sioux Falls location.

Julie Rush joined SilverStone Group in 2009 in the Group Benefits department. She has more than 20 years of experience, specializing in complicated plan design, self-funded medical plan implementation and other complex client requirements. With Rush’s promotion to Account Manager, she serves as the primary contact for clients and is responsible for all aspects of client management.

 

Paula Salas Added as First Impressions Coordinator

Omaha, NE | SilverStone Group welcomes Paula Salas to the Marketing and Communications Team

Paula joins SilverStone Group as the First Impressions Coordinator. Her responsibilities include providing outstanding customer service and a positive, professional first impression for SilverStone Group guests, clients and prospects. In addition, Paula is responsible for coordinating all aspects of client meetings, including technology setup and troubleshooting. In between meetings, Paula assists the Marketing team with various projects.

Paula comes to us with more than 20 years of experience as an executive assistant at a private insurance agency. There, she scheduled meetings, made travel arrangements and completed various other projects.

Omaha, NE | SilverStone Group Associates Meet WELCOA’s Seven Benchmarks, Obtain Advanced Certifications

SilverStone Group Associates Ashley Thomalla and Michelle Miller recently received their Wellness Council of America (WELCOA) Seven Benchmarks Advanced Level Certifications. WELCOA’s Well Workplace model identifies seven benchmarks that companies meet to develop a successful “results-oriented” wellness program, which delivers recognizable value to both employees and the company as a whole. The Advanced Level Certification is awarded to “well-established wellness professionals.”

With more than 25 years of helping companies create healthy workplaces, WELCOA has acquired more than 5,000 members and become recognized as a preeminent resource for businesses to develop a healthy workforce culture.

Ashley is a Human Capital Senior Consultant and Michelle is Director, Marketing and Communications. Ashley and Michelle are also members of SilverStone Group’s Wellness Activities Group (WAG), which Michelle co-chairs.

Formed nearly 30 years ago, the volunteer-led WAG Committee works diligently to provide a healthy work environment that encourages and enables healthy lifestyles through access to education, programs and services that promote well-being, quality performance and community involvement.

 

Anthony Kucera Joins Group Benefits Team

Omaha, NE  |  SilverStone Group welcomes Anthony Kucera as a Benefit Analyst in the Group Benefits department.

In his position as a Benefit Analyst with the Group Benefits Team at SilverStone Group, Anthony will work on planning reports, market analysis, monthly claim utilization and renewals. He brings 11 years of industry experience and certifications in both LEAN and Six Sigma to his role, giving him valuable insight into clients’ needs and working effectively within carriers’ service structures.

Anthony’s experience prior to joining SilverStone Group includes account management for an Omaha-based financial group involving service management for multiple locations.

Carrie Kucirek Promoted to Communications Supervisor

Omaha, NE  |  SilverStone Group is pleased to announce the promotion of Carrie Kucirek.

Carrie joined SilverStone Group in 2012 as a Word Processing Specialist and has more than 12 years of experience in the communications industry. Her background as the editor of a local newspaper, in addition to the skills she’s learned in the past few years, make her an expert in proofing and formatting internal and external communication pieces for all divisions of the Firm.

“Carrie’s understanding of the English language and wonderful customer service make her a true asset to SilverStone Group and very worthy of this promotion,” said Michelle Miller, Director of Marketing and Communications. “I’m excited to see her blossom as she leads the Communications Team for years to come.”

 

Jessica Odorisio Promoted to Account Manager

Omaha, NE  |  SilverStone Group promotes Jessica Odorisio in the 401(k) / 403(b) Services department.

Having started as an intern in the 401(k) / 403(b) Services area as an intern in 2008, Jessie has worked her way up from Account Administrator to Account Manager. She is responsible for all management aspects of retirement plan advisory accounts, including preparing proposals, fiduciary reviews and reports, vendor benchmarking studies and client account administrative duties. Jessie’s service-oriented attitude and enthusiasm when dealing with clients make her an outstanding member of the 401(k) / 403(b) Services Team.

Jeff Sharp, a Principal at SilverStone Group, expressed his approval, saying, “Jessie provides significant experience and knowledge of the retirement plan arena, which has been a big part of the significant growth in our 401(k)/403(b) advisory practice.”

 

Lisa Mathers Joins Sioux Falls Group Benefits Team

Omaha, NE  |  SilverStone Group welcomes Lisa Mathers as a Benefit Analyst in the Group Benefits department.

As a Benefit Analyst on the Group Benefits Team, Lisa will work closely with SilverStone Group’s clients and co-workers to provide comprehensive analysis of benefit options for employer groups of all sizes. Her primary areas of responsibility will include mid-year planning reports, client bid proposals, client renewals and market analysis.

Lisa brings more than eight years of health plan underwriting experience to her position and has worked with Medicare, small transitional groups, Affordable Care Act (ACA) policies, large groups and pricing of block renewals.

 

Stephanie Unger Joins Group Benefits Team

Omaha, NE  |  SilverStone Group welcomes Stephanie Unger as an Account Manager in the Group Benefits department.   

Stephanie brings 14 years of experience in the benefits healthcare market to her new role at SilverStone Group. Stephanie is an Account Manager in True Group and specializes in advising clients on developing long-term benefit strategies that help meet their financial goals.

Her background includes Third Party Administrator (TPA) experience in plan design, analysis and preparation, client relationship management on the carrier side and administration of a number of group benefit programs for a large employer. Stephanie’s expertise includes strategic planning, labor relations, contract management, customer relationship development, vendor management, management and development of policies and procedures and claims management. Her leadership and vast healthcare market experience is invaluable to her clients.

 

SilverStone Group Receives American Diabetes Association Health Champion Designation

Omaha, NE  |  SilverStone Group’s Wellness Activity Group (WAG) receives prestigious designation.

SilverStone Group continually works to make workplace wellness and employee health a top priority. We recently joined the American Diabetes Association (ADA) to support Wellness Lives HereSM, an initiative to educate and motivate the adoption of healthy habits to reduce the impact of obesity and type 2 diabetes.

“We are excited to be partnering with the American Diabetes Association and a first time recipient of their Health Champion Designation. We strive to make our workplace a healthy environment for our Associates where the healthy choice is the easy choice,” said Michelle Miller, Director of Marketing & Communications and Co-Chair of SilverStone Group’s Wellness Activities Group. Health Champion designees empower people to better control, delay or stop diabetes and other related health problems. To qualify for the Health Champion designation, SilverStone Group had to meet criteria in three categories: nutrition and weight management, physical activity and organizational well-being. The designation was presented in February of 2016 and is for 1 year.

The ADA stated, “SilverStone Group is a shining example of an organization that is committed to making the health and wellness of their employees a priority and the American Diabetes Association is exceptionally proud to recognize their wellness efforts,” stated Pam Monsky, Development and Stewardship Manager for ADA.

 

SilverStone Group Promotes Jorth, LaRock and Lembke

SilverStone Group is pleased to announce the promotions of Jeff Jorth, Dan LaRock and Robert Lembke.

Dan LaRock and Jeff Jorth of our Group Benefits division, and Bob Lembke of our Risk Management division, have recently been recognized with promotions within their respective departments.

Jeff Jorth has been a member of our Group Benefits division since 2004 and has twice received the Carl G. Mammel Award for the highest achievement in marketing at SilverStone Group. “Jeff’s leadership and teamwork has propelled our Benefits practice to new heights,” said company President, John H. Nelson. Jorth was promoted to Principal I and is now a member of the company Board of Directors.

Dan LaRock’s expertise, outstanding communication skills and strong client relationships have earned him the new title of Principal II. LaRock is also a past recipient of SilverStone Group’s highest award for marketing excellence. LaRock will be the new ranking Principal II of Group Benefits in the Dakota territories.

Bob Lembke brings 30-plus years of expertise to his new role as Principal II. Lembke has worked as a Senior Consultant on the Risk Management Team of SilverStone Group’s Construction division for the past seven years. Prior to joining the Firm, Bob was the Risk Manager at Peter Kiewit Sons’. “We set the bar high for attaining the position of Principal, and Jeff, Dan and Bob have delivered exceptional results for both our clients and Associates,” Nelson said.

 

Peggy Steckelberg Joins Marketing Team

Omaha, NE | SilverStone Group welcomes Peggy Steckelberg as a Multi-Media Specialist.

As a Multi-Media Specialist on SilverStone Group’s Marketing and Communications Team, Peggy will work with Associates to meet a variety of marketing needs, including the development of website content and management, search engine optimization (SEO), analytics, social media and advertising.

Peggy brings more than 25 years of experience serving the marketing needs of various companies and industries, including telecommunications, manufacturing and banking. She’s assisted numerous companies in establishing their online presence, developing in-house SEO and search engine marketing (SEM) programs and the corresponding tracking and analytics. In addition, she’s experienced in creative design, writing and production for print, digital, radio and video media.

 

Mark Weber Receives Community Sower Award

Omaha, NE | SilverStone Group would like to congratulate Mark Weber on his receipt of the 2015 Community Sower Award.

Presented by the Nebraska Partnership for Philanthropic Planning, the Community Sower Award recognizes Nebraska professionals selected for their meritorious service as for-profit charitable advisors assisting clients and customers with charitable planned gifts. Recipients are highly regarded by their peers in the professional and charitable communities as a reflection of their skills, knowledge, ethics and collegiality. Active involvement in the for-profit community and length of service as a charitable advisor are also among the criteria used for selection.

Mark has more than 30 years of experience in estate planning and business transition planning and is a recognized financial consultant to business owners and executives. As a speaker and an author, Mark has shared his extensive knowledge of financial and philanthropic topics to audiences which include the Nebraska Bar Association, the Society of Financial Services and many more. Mark is an active participant in a number of professional and community associations and has assisted some of the country’s wealthiest individuals with their charitable bequests.
