and conducting FLSA audits. Diego has extensive educational experience, having just finished his Master of Science in Industrial/Organizational Psychology.

Rebecka Campbell Joins SilverStone Group as Account Administrator

Rebecka’s decade of experience in Human Resources will be helpful in her new role as she works to assist Account Managers with client management, retention, service and support. Prior to joining SilverStone Group, Rebecka gained experience at SAC Federal Credit Union. Rebecka spent her time in Human Resources, focusing on areas of benefit management. Specifically, Rebecka worked with multiple carriers on benefit administration and enrollments, as well as employee relations and customer service.

Thomas Von Riesen Named AALU President

Tom Von Riesen has over 30 years of experience in human resource consulting, nonqualified benefit design and tax consulting. Tom joined SilverStone Group in 1991 after working with PricewaterhouseCoopers for many years. He also served as an attorney for Farm Credit Banks.
Tom continues to lend his expertise to those in his community as a speaker at continuing education sessions with M Financial Group, the University of Nebraska College of Law and School of Accounting, Nebraska State Bar Association, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Nebraska Continuing Legal Education, Inc. and Financial Executives Institute.
In 2011, Tom was recognized for his hard work when he received the award from the Nebraska Society of CPA’s for Outstanding CPA in Business & Industry.
Even with a packed schedule, Tom is dedicated to his community. He is the past Chairman of the Nebraska Society of Certified Public Accountants and is currently on the Board of Directors of their Political Education Committee. He has also served on the Member Firm Relations Committee for the M Financial Group. SilverStone Group is proud to be recognized for the second consecutive year with a Safest Companies Award. This award is given to companies who have implemented an injury and illness prevention program, a safety committee, employee training or other safety initiatives designed for the unique needs of their organizations. Through their hard work, these companies have achieved incident rates and lost workday case rates the same as or better than their industry average.
SilverStone Group received a Bronze award last year and was pleased with this year’s improved ranking. Joe Freeman, Safety Engineering Manager, commented, “It’s encouraging to receive recognition for our daily efforts in maintaining a safe workplace.”
The National Safety Council of Nebraska’s Safety Companies Awards Committee of 11 safety professionals from the business community review the entries and determine category of qualification. They spend a minimum of 30 – 40 hours each reviewing the individual applications and discussing the applications as a group.
Companies receiving the Nebraska’s Safest Companies designation will be honored at the Awards Luncheon on May 23, 2013, at the National Safety Council, Nebraska’s annual Safety and Health Summit. We are pleased to welcome James Gulson to our Sioux Falls office. James has assumed the position of Managing Director of Aviation Risk Services in the Property & Casualty department. James’ day-to-day work will focus on client relations, business development and market oversight and analysis.
As a private pilot himself, James understands the regulations and is acutely aware of the challenges facing the aviation industry. His experience with complicated risks has allowed him to establish strong relationships within the insurance markets and serve as a credible advocate for his clients. John Sutton, Regional Director of our Sioux Falls office confirms stating, “James’ experience as a business owner, combined with his knowledge of aviation, provide the perfect background to understand and serve our client’s needs.”
Prior to joining SilverStone Group, James spent his 18-year career placing coverage on everything from a single piston aircraft to large business jets and rotorcraft. He’s worked in claims, trained adjusters on a national catastrophe team and his first ever liability case involved vertical placement for hot air balloons.
