Each week during the Basketball season, SilverStone Group will honor one current High School basketball player as the “Wisdom at Work Student Athlete of the Week” for achievements in classroom excellence, community involvement, athletics and citizenship. This week’s honoree is Senior Zach Dibble from Bellevue West High School.
Dibble is an outstanding student athlete carrying a 4.8 GPA on a 5.0 scale. He is both an honor roll student and member of the national honor society. He participates in both DECA and FBLA and his athletic ability stretches over to baseball where he was named as an academic all-state selection last season.
According to Bellevue West Head Coach Doug Woddard, “Zach is an example of the ultimate team player. He paid his dues and now he’s starting. He does whatever’s asked to help his team win.”
Zach Dibble will receive a plaque from SilverStone Group recognizing him as this week’s “Wisdom at Work Student Athlete of the Week.”
Josh Abels

Each week during the Basketball season, SilverStone Group will honor one current High School basketball player as the “Wisdom at Work Student Athlete of the Week” for achievements in classroom excellence, community involvement, athletics and citizenship. This week’s honoree is Senior Josh Abels from Papillion La Vista High School.
Abels has worked very hard on and off the floor to help with Papillion Lavista’s resurgence in the Metro Conference. He is an outstanding 3-point shooter and a leader on and off the court.
Abels was honored as the Omaha Exchange Clubs Outstanding Sophomore of the year, received the Heartland Lemay Leadership Character Award and volunteers his time to coach the Junior Monarchs 6th grade team.
According to Papillion Head Coach Jason Ryan, “Josh is a true student athlete, he’s a great leader on the floor, participates in three sports and is second in his class out of 367 students.”
Josh Abels will receive a plaque from SilverStone Group recognizing him as this week’s “Wisdom at Work Student Athlete of the Week.”
Will Bassett

Each week during the Basketball season, SilverStone Group will honor one current High School basketball player as the “Wisdom at Work Student Athlete of the Week” for achievements in classroom excellence, community involvement, athletics and citizenship. This week’s honoree is Senior Will Bassett from Ralston High School.
On top of being selected as a River Cities All Conference player last year, he averaged 14 points and 3 assists per game. Bassett is the epitome of a student athlete. He’s a member of the National Honor Society, an Honor Roll Student and was selected to the Ralston High School Leadership and Sportsmanship Council.
According to Ralston Head Coach Bill Heard, “Not only is he an excellent student, he is an excellent person. He has continually held himself to a higher standard. He’s great young man and an even better person.”

Jennifer Stanek

Each week during the Basketball season, SilverStone Group will honor one current High School basketball player as the “Wisdom at Work Student Athlete of the Week” for achievements in classroom excellence, community involvement, athletics and citizenship. This week’s honoree is Jennifer Stanek, from Papillion-La Vista High School.
According to her Coach Ray Keller, “Jen is tenacious, there is no quit in her, she gets after it defensively and is all over the court. She makes up for her size with her heart. She has been our captain for the last 3 years and we will miss her.”
Stanek who stands just 5 foot 3 inches tall stated all 24 games this season, leading the team with 65 steals and was third in rebounding while leading her team a trip to the Devaney Center for the Girls State Tournament.
Stanek will attend UNL next year and was nominated for Academic All-State.

Jamilah Johnson

Each week during the Basketball season, SilverStone Group will honor one current High School basketball player as the “Wisdom at Work Student Athlete of the Week” for achievements in classroom excellence, community involvement, athletics and citizenship. This week’s honoree is Jamilah Johnson from Marian High School.
As the only senior on the 2011 roster, Johnson averaged 13 points per game and 2.8 assists.
According to Head Coach Beth Dye, “she is very quick, maybe the quickest first step of any player I’ve ever coached. We looked to her all year. She is a great young lady and was our leader on and off the floor.”
Johnson is looking at William Penn, Midland College and Nebraska Wesleyan to continue her basketball career at the college level.

Ashleigh Nelson

Each week during the Basketball season, SilverStone Group will honor one current High School basketball player as the “Wisdom at Work Student Athlete of the Week” for achievements in classroom excellence, community involvement, athletics and citizenship. This week’s honoree is Ashleigh Nelson.
Nelson a senior at Millard West High School will earn her fourth letter this year and hopes to lead her team to another trip to Lincoln and the girl’s state championship.
According to her Coach Kip Colony, “She is a leader in the classroom and on the floor. She has been a coach’s dream for the last 4 years and we will miss her when she graduates.”
Nelson’s Wildcats begin district competition February 22, hosting Omaha South in the opening round.

AJ Lowe

Each week during the Basketball season, SilverStone Group will honor one current High School basketball player as the “Wisdom at Work Student Athlete of the Week” for achievements in classroom excellence, community involvement, athletics and citizenship. This week’s honoree is AJ Lowe, a junior at Elkhorn South High School.
Lowe is a leader on and off the court. He is the starting point guard and a savvy player with outstanding vision and skills. He is an AP level student with a competitive work ethic and natural academic ability.
According to his coach Alex Bahe “Look for AJ to carry our team for the next two seasons and be an outstanding role model in the classroom.”

Ally Wolever

Each week during the Basketball season, SilverStone Group will honor one current High School basketball player as the “Wisdom at Work Student Athlete of the Week” for achievements in classroom excellence, community involvement, athletics and citizenship. This week’s honoree is Ally Wolever.
Wolever is a two year starter for Bellevue West T-Birds and has been a member of two state championship teams over the last four years.
She excels in the classroom, carrying a 4.5 grade point average and according to one of her teachers “Ally is a pleasure to have in class, she always on time and contributes to class discussion in a meaning full way.”
Her Coach Matt Fritsch echo’s those same thoughts “I would like to have 20 Ally Wolovers, she works hard in practice everyday and sets an example for her team mates to emulate. She is one of the smartest players I’ve ever had.”

Reath Jiech

Each week during the Basketball season, SilverStone Group will honor one current High School basketball player as the “Wisdom at Work Student Athlete of the Week” for achievements in classroom excellence, community involvement, athletics and citizenship. This week’s honoree is Reath Jiech, a senior at Omaha Bryan High School.
Jiech (Giech) has a tremendous work ethic and high moral character. He carries a 3.3 GPA in the classroom and is an excellent role model for everyone on the team.
Last Saturday Jiech made his seventh steal of the game and scored four points during a 10-0 Bryan run that pulled the Bears within 4 with 1:13 remaining at Creighton Prep.
According to Coach Tim Cannon said “Reath is truly an excellent student athlete and person. He is a great brother to his siblings and does everything he can to help his parents and family.”
Reath Jiech will receive a plaque from SilverStone Group recognizing him as this week’s “Wisdom at Work Student Athlete of the Week.”
Jazmine Polk

Each week during the Basketball season, SilverStone Group will honor one current High School basketball player as the “Wisdom at Work Student Athlete of the Week” for achievements in classroom excellence, community involvement, athletics and citizenship. This week’s honoree is Jazmine Polk, a junior at Omaha Central High School.
Jazmine is a dedicated student athlete, with high morals and a strong work ethic. She has a current GPA of 4.1 and received the Zylefter Award for her skills displayed on the basketball court.
According to Coach Tom Lee said “She is highly respected by her peers and the staff at Omaha Central. It is without hesitation that I nominate Jazmine as your player of the week.”
Polk is very active in her community. She is involved in basketball, music and modeling.

Kate Bowling

Each week during the Basketball season, SilverStone Group will honor one current High School basketball player as the “Wisdom at Work Student Athlete of the Week” for achievements in classroom excellence, community involvement, athletics and citizenship. This week’s honoree is Kate Bowling, from Westside High School.
Kate does an outstanding job not only on the court with her dedication and hard work, but also in the classroom. Her current GPA of 3.83 shows her hard work is paying off.
She is a three-year starter at Westside, and will be a four-year letter winner after this year.
She received Metro Honorable Mention in 2009-10. According to Coach Ryan Broshar, “her respect and caring for others plus her sense of humor make her a special person. Kate is a great example of a student athlete.”
Kate Bowling will receive a plaque from SilverStone Group recognizing her as this week’s “Wisdom at Work Student Athlete of the Week.”
Jalen Hueser

Each week during the Basketball season, SilverStone Group will honor one current High School basketball player as the “Wisdom at Work Student Athlete of the Week” for achievements in classroom excellence, community involvement, athletics and citizenship. This week’s honoree is Jalen Hueser, a senior at Papillion South High School.
Jalen has been a starter since his sophomore year, and last year averaged nearly 14 points per games. He is currently second in career scoring (688) behind Kendall Wehrle (1,078). The 2009-10 season Jalen received All-State Honorable Mention. According to his coach and father “Jalen is a versatile scorer, experienced veteran and certainly a player to watch.”
Jalen excels in the classroom as well sporting a perfect 4.0 grade point average.
Jalen Hueser will receive a plaque from SilverStone Group recognizing him as this week’s “Wisdom at Work Student Athlete of the Week.”
