SilverStone Group’s WAG Committee offers several programs to Associates throughout the year. Below are a few of the programs schedule for 2014.
For 2014, WAG has teamed up with Layered Health and fitbit for our new SilverFit program! We are proud to say we have nearly 90% participation amongst Associates for this year long program which is as easy as walking! Participating Associates were given a fitbit to record the number of steps they take in a day. Teams were formed for mini-monthly games to get people moving! There will also be two 6-month company goals that will benefit a local charity, the Lydia House (part of the Open Door Mission), should (we mean WHEN) we reach our goals!
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
For a second year, WAG is partnering with Wenninghoff’s for an 18-week program where farmers pack a weekly bag of fresh-picked produce. Associates that sign up for the program have a bag delivered to our Omaha location each week. Wenninghoff’s grow over 40 varieties of produce and try to include at least four different items each week in the bag. This great variety of fresh produce helps our Associates to think outside-the-box when it comes to meal planning. Members find they are eager to try new recipes instead of preparing the same meals repeatedly. Recipes and storage tips are also usually included in the bag.
Lunch with WAG
WAG Committee members hold quarterly Lunch with WAG meetings for all Associates. Local speakers on topics such as nutrition, finance, work life balance and stress are invited to present and lunch is provided. Teleconference is used so all locations can join in.
Three times a year WAG offers 8-week on-site fitness classes to their Associates for a small fee. A local fitness instructor comes to our Omaha location twice a week for 45 minutes teaching classes such as Power Yoga, Ab Fusion and Interval Training.
Donations of blood are what make the American Red Cross the largest single supplier of blood and blood products in the U.S. Three times a year SilverStone Group Associates roll up their sleeves and donate blood to the American Red Cross to help this worthy cause.
