When given the choice to lead or follow, Mikaela Walker always heads to the front of the pack. Whether she is in the office or on a race track, Mikaela sets a goal and puts forth every effort to reach it – no matter what it takes! In her previous position, Mikaela used this initiative to create a paperless work environment in both the Claims and Administrative departments. She has carried these invaluable leadership skills into her role as Claims Assistant at SilverStone Group.
Mikaela started her college career pursuing a degree in Pharmaceutical Technology, but after obtaining her diploma she decided to embark on a different route. The fast-paced environment of the insurance industry appealed to her and she knew it was where she belonged. Mikaela quickly learned how to create a happy client. When a person submits a request, she takes the time to look at each aspect of the task and then seeks out additional services or add-ons that the client may not have considered. She believes the client always comes first and strives to make them feel comfortable – that is how she establishes long-lasting relationships with the individuals she does business with.
When Mikaela isn’t meticulously carrying out each aspect of her job, she enjoys cutting loose by racing cars and skating. She is a blocker for the Omaha Roller Girls, an all-female flat-track roller derby league, and serves on their hospitality committee.
