When you first meet Jeff Sharp in a comfortable conference room at SilverStone Group’s headquarters, sipping on a Starbuck’s coffee and talking about protecting the assets you’ve worked so hard to accumulate, you might think “what does this guy know about hard work?” The truth is, Jeff spent a couple of summers working on oil rigs in Wyoming. That’s hard work and Jeff now extends that same hard work and commitment to his clients.
Jeff has more than 30 years of experience providing families with comprehensive wealth management and retirement planning solutions. He helps individuals position their assets in an effort to accomplish wealth accumulation, conservation and distribution goals. Jeff knows that because every individual’s situation is different, his challenge is to think “outside the box” to provide viable solutions to meet his client’s needs. He leads the team within SilverStone Group that was recognized as one of the 2014 Top 100 Retirement Plan Advisers in America by PLANSPONSOR.1
In 2013, 2012, 2011 and 2010, Jeff was identified as a Top Wealth Manager in Nebraska by receiving the Premium Advisor Award2 which is awarded by the National Association of Board-Certified Practices (NABCAP). He received the Carl G. Mammel Award3 in 2008, in recognition of outstanding marketing achievement.
Jeff has served as President of various professional associations including the Omaha Chapter of The Society of Financial Service Professionals, and the Omaha Estate Planning Council. Jeff has also served on the Board of Directors of the Washington, D.C.-based Association for Advanced Life Underwriting (AALU).4
Jeff is a member of the Nebraska Bar Association, Omaha Bar Association, Financial Planning Association (FPA), Investment Management Consultant Association (IMCA), Society of Financial Service Professionals (SFSP), National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) and the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting (AALU).4
Jeff is active in the community including five years of service as the President of the Board of Directors for the Westside Schools Foundation. His past involvement includes the Board of Directors of the Women’s Center for Advancement and serving as President of the Board of Fontenelle Nature Association. In 2008, he and Becky chaired the Henry Doorly Zoo Membership campaign. That same year, Jeff was awarded the “Lighthouse Leader” Award5 by the Westside Community Schools.

1To be considered for the annual PLANADVISER list, advisers had to either submit information and references or be nominated and enter the award process for the 2014 PLANSPONSOR Retirement Plan Adviser of the Year – individual, team or multi-office team. PLANADVISER did not consider advisers who did not submit information to PLANADVISER or were not nominated for the award. Nominees were then asked to complete a form, providing various details about their practice. PLANADVISER did not consider input from clients of Advisers. Advisers could also, for the first time, submit such information unsolicited, although not to be considered for the awards. The PLANADVISER Top 100 Retirement Plan Advisers list is drawn solely from a smaller set of quantitative factors and information supplied by the advisers themselves.
2The designation is awarded annually by the National Association of Board Certified Advisory Practices (NABCAP). The selection process is based on a proprietary system whose ultimate goal is to provide investors and advisors a trusted standard of excellence to help guide them within the financial services industry. The evaluation process assesses 20 categories of practice management, which include areas such as customer service, risk/investment planning philosophy, credentials, team dynamics, fee/cost structure, and average AUM per client among other areas.
3The Carl G. Mammel Award is sponsored by SilverStone Group and presented annually to one or more SilverStone Group associates for their outstanding achievement in Sales and/or Marketing. Recipients are nominated by their peers.
